  • The amount of winter darkness Alaskans have to put up with each year can depress even the cheeriest person. No wonder then that some Alaskans go to extraordinary lengths to brighten up their winter "days".
    Christmas Outhouse 10-Note Card Packs
  • Though summers in Alaska may be hot and sunny (and getting more so) like summers in other parts of the U.S., Spring and Autumn are unique. Those gloriously warm transitional days that fill the weeks between winter and summer and again between summer and winter in other places don't happen here. In Alaska Spring and Autumn can be compressed into just a few days. Several feet of snow can still cover the ground on the first day of Spring (March 21) and by the first day of Autumn (September 21) just about all of the trees may be bare.

  • This outhouse, set some yards behind a neat and tidy log cabin, surrounded by lush beds of flowers in summer and neat banks of snow in winter was a reflection of Carol's sense of order and Jerry's philosophical nature. A visit was as contemplative experience as you could ask for. 4x11 inches

  • This unassuming outhouse along an empty stretch of the George Parks Highway, in what could arguably be described as the middle of nowhere, had seen little action for many years, especially in winter. That quiet solitude however, likely contributed to the near perfection in size and shape of that snow-capped roof. 4x11 inches
